AIIM Webinar: Stay out of Trouble - Email and E-discovery

On June 10, 2009, at 2 pm EDT,  Barclay T. Blair, head of FCS IG, was featured on an AIIM International webinar, entitled, Stay out of Trouble - Email and E-discovery. (A recording of this event is now available on AIIM’s website.)

Synopsis. By now you know that unmanaged emails can be used against you in a court of law. What you need to know is HOW to gather emails together under a centralized management umbrella so that those emails that need to be retained are kept and those deemed unnecessary are disposed of properly. Note the term “centralized management.”  Emails, like other content types, will be spread throughout the organization on desktops, laptops and file servers in the email system or PST and NSF files. Proceeding from the idea that you must have a good policy in place — and that solid records management principles are the foundation for addressing your company’s email concerns — this hour will provide you with specific direction for taking care of your email challenges for ediscovery. So the next time opposing counsel goes fishing; you won’t get caught.

A Practice of Forensics Consulting Solutions, LLC

The Origin of FCS IG

FCS IG is a division of Forensics Consulting Solutions, LLC (FCS), a leading e-discovery consulting company with a global reach. In the course of providing e-discovery services, FCS witnesses the pain and cost of information mismanagement on a daily basis. We founded FCS IG to help our clients take control of their information environment before litigation or regulatory investigations begin.

The FCS Professional Services Group focuses on helping clients mange their information after litigation or an investigation has already commenced.

FCS IG helps clients before a lawsuit or investigation begins. We focus on helping the client manage their information better so when a lawsuit or investigation does begin, the client is better prepared to find and prepare the evidence that is required, thereby reducing the cost and pain of e-discovery.

However, our services also help clients outside of the e-discovery context by making information easier for employees to find and use it; getting rid of unnecessary information (thus reducing costs); and complying with federal and state laws and regulations.
